I have right now a performer EPS manifold with a performer 750 cfm carb in my 79 with the stock hood. Even then its tight. The height difference between a performer and a performer rpm is 3.74 X 4.80 for the performer, and 4.20 X 5.25 for the RPM. basically it will raise the carb up almost 3/4" higher so measure accordingly. I might be able to get a RPM to fit if I use a drop base air cleaner and keep the filter thin or maybe duct a cool air intake to the carb to maximize air flow.
