I'm, not to sure how the holley fuel pump will react witht he edlebrock carb. I perfer edlebrock over holley though, however I must say that holley makes an aswsome fuel pump. Here is a link to the cars progress pics:

When I took the block apart I found no gaskets on anything where they should be one except for the intake, there was one, and it was torn :(

I would lower the compression ratio down to 9:1.
10:1 w/cast iron heads will probably give you detonation problems. Unless you are going to switch over to aluminum heads, which dissapates heat faster. You can still build good amounts of power w/9:1 CR. And still be pump gas friendly.

Maybe as much as 9.5 to 1, But I agree with Sarge. What fuel are you planning on using?

I've been running 10.5:1 with iron heads, no problems. I do run premium however, 93 octane. It will ping with anything less.
