Anyone running the GM ZZ383??
If so, did you have any issues with vacuum pressure in terms of the brakes?  How does it idle etc..?

I'm thinking it will be nice.  I have it ordered...I just wanted to see if anyone was running the motor to see if there were any other considerations.  Wanted to get all the painful parts-buying out of the way as much as possible. Tongue

Hi Shane,
I put GMPP's 383/425HP in my 82 with a Tremec 5 speed behind it and i really enjoy it. I didn't have any vacuum problems, and that was something i was also worried about. It is really a great engine, no problem with the idle, of course it is a full roller cam and lifters. My idle is set at 750 and it sounds great, no problems at stop lights with dieing. It's a small block that drives like a big block, gobs of torque.

Cool deal Shane. Did you get the carb and dist as part of the package? Starter?

Go with new rad hoses and belts. New motor mounts - polys may be a consideration depending on how heavy tour foot is

If the motor comes with a water pump, make sure it's the short style.

Have fun!!Wink
