Yes.
There are press fit wrist pins. (Most Common)
And there are floating wrist pins. They just slide into place and are held in by a retainer in each end of the opening.

The floating pins are found in special high performance engines, and heavy duty ones such as the light truck and heavier diesels.
My mechanic told me that I have floating wrist pins and 12to1 Domed pistons. I thought he was yanking my chain about the wrist pins.Did they come from the factory like that on the 69 350 350 hp engine.
Thanks

Ummm your engine must not be stock, because none of our vettes came with 12:1 dome pistons.

I am wondering if he made a mistake because the engine is supposed to have been rebuilt back to factory specs when i brought the car. The only thing that was supposed to be different was the valve train It was all roller. any help would be greatly appreciated.
