When I rebuild mine, I went with Fluiddampers Streetdamper on my small
block. It comes with a bare finish and you can paint it any way you
would like. I don't know that it is any better than stock but I do know
that the outside ring should never slip. It has the degree marks every
10 degrees with 2 degree increment between. It seems to work fine in my
setup.

Ok, so is a sb 350 internally balanced? There is one for internal and one for external?

350 engines are internal balanced, if they're stock, meaning not stroked or de-stroked.(maybe not the forged cranks?) 400 sblks are external balance, and I think the later 305/307 engines are external balance. On a stock engine, the Fluidamper is OK, but it really shines on heavily modified setups, mostly high RPM stuff. If you've got the cash for one, go for it, it won't hurt anything. the big advantage, other than the superior balancing capabilities, is they don't come apart, or separate like a stock balancer. If you've ever seen the front of a car with a hole in the hood from a burst balancer, you'll believe in keeping the balancer together!!
