Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.
I am almost ready to start it up. Finished up filling oils etc and I had time to spin the oil pump to prime the engine and here is where I may have a problem.

I hooked up an oil guage to the block to check pressures, spin the primer with the drill and it shows 30-48 psi but.... there is no oil comming out of the head onto the valve train. I looked and looked but no oil.

So do I have a bad oil pump???  The pump is new as this is a rebuilt engine.  I just want to  err on the side of caution.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
No problem.   You won't see it until the lifters start working.   The hydraulic lifters won't allow oil to come up through them until they start to pump a bit.   And that won't happen until the engine turns.    Not to worry.  You are getting exactly what you should.

Pour a bit of oil on the rockers and valves if you have not already.  If the area has been lubed well with assembly lube when put together you don't need to worry about the soak job.

Start that baby!
