ConfusedHad the grounding problem with my hood latch problem. I had grounded my MSD box (two ground wires) one ground wire to the right hood latch and the other to the left hood latch, think this is the reason that the latch cable got hot and sparked when I started the engine  The one ground wire I am going to ground to the frame and the other to the engine.  My question (I know that there is no such thing as a dumb question) will there be a proper ground to an aluminum intake manifold?

Aluminum is fine to ground to.

Thanks! My knowledge of electricity is very limited.

Just a little hint.  When putting new equipment on, I always ground to a point I can see without too much trouble.  Remember, the battery is grounded to the frame and the engine is also via their own ground cables.  If you ground everything you need to onto the frame then everything should work.  If you are grounding to something like the hood latches that "should" be connected to the frame but their bolts pass through fibreglass, you can't actually see the "Good" ground point.

Hope that makes sense.

Makes sense to me.  Fiberglass doesn't make for a good ground, But wasn't sure about aluminum. Thanks!
