You can go to auto parts and ask for a "choke stove kit", it includes tubing to go to the choke housing and a small dome shaped tin box that hose clamps to the header, cheap fix, or maybe just hose clamp the tubing to the header, the header heat might heat the air in the tubing enough to opperate the choke, you got nothing to lose, last option, buy a new carb with an elec. choke.

this is definitely an option..
as for the question about using ambient temp to warm up the car.. i wouldnt recommend it.. yes a big block is an alaskan heater.. but your best bet is still an elctric choke.. most reliable of the bunch.. try another parts store... also take the choke in instead of over the phone and ask for the choke for a 75.. often times (as was mentioned in a previous thread here) parts store employees couldnt find their posterior exhaust cavity with both hands.
if you have the q-jet it is the same carb.. just a different choke...
Thanks for all the advice. I'll check another parts store. Until I get an electric choke, any recommendation on the best thing to use to cover the opening over the primaries when I go to start my car when it's cold? I've been using a clean rag, but that's probably not the best.

If you don't find one at auto parts, you can get one through Edelbrock, I am looking at their catolog under Q-Jet Accessories,Choke Kits and Caps ,Pt#1932 "converts hot air choke to electric", 1-800-416-8628 Tech Dept 7am-5pm PST
My 75 does not have an electric choke. It may get one later. The last choke coil kit I bought was ordered through NAPA. The universal stove kit for the non-electric is on the shelf in the help section at Autozone.
