i developed a exhaust leak at my header gasket, the mechanic who is going to replace them suggested I get a copper gasget. In the summit
catalog they have sce and summit copper gasgets and and list small
block 1.5' round,1.5 x 1.437" or lt1, d-port, can anyone tell me which one do I need, and if I should get the summit or the sce price is the same, also
I'm having a tune up done, any suggestions on wires and plugs. i was thinking of the moroso blue max, in the ecklers catalog. Should I get
oem ac delco plugs or the ac delco rapid fire performance plugs or any other suggestions

I can't help you on the gasket selection, but I was wondering how/why you developed that problem. Is it old and due or recent. If recent; as far as I remember, bolts needs to be re-tighted once or twice so maybe that wasn't done. Or maybe they were not tighten in the right pattern to begin with.
For the wires; since you have headers; I would suggest what has been suggested to me (by warbirds) but I haven't tried them yet. Because of my headers (and big block) I have burned sets after sets.

I'm not sure what the header's look like on a small block; as fas as how much space you can work with for the spark plugs, but if space is tight like mine, you might want to go with the short Accel spark plugs (276S is the Accel # for the one's I have).
My ZZ 4 has the aluminum 58cc heads with the D shaped ports, I used the Sanderson Stainless ceramic coated headers and used a gel compound as a gasket. I used no material or metal gaskets. I also used a locking system with the header bolts. Not one problem in 10,000 miles, leaks or lose bolts..

It probably failed because of age,and they used standard gaskets, I
have original engine that was rebuilt, and stock heads if that will help,
anybody know what gasket I need
the shape of your exhaust ports will be determinded by the type heads on your engine,,as for the gaskets spend the extra few bucks and get the copper ones, also while you are in this project you may wanna get the header bolts with the locking rings to prevent them from backing out,,you can get these at most any high po. parts store,,get a top of the line set of wires 7mm,good luck rd

Hi Tony, the round holed gaskets are for headers, but my favorite is a multi layered aluminum header gasket. Great gaskets and reusable. Don't know Wether I got them from jegs or Summit. I'll post the name when I get back home. They were a little pricey, but worth it .

I'm sorry Tony,
please forgive me, I forgot
. In case you haven't bought yet, I was refering to "Percy's", "seal for good", reusable, lifetime gaskets.

I'll plan on getting the copper gaskets, but I need to know what ports were used, rick d said it is determined by the heads. They are the stock
heads and i found the casting number 333882, can anyone tell me were
round ports used or the 1.5"x1.437" or the lt1d port
