I'm thinking about putting headers on my stock '77 L-82.  McJack's has 4 different versions depending on the diameter of the tubes and the size of the collectors.  Two of the versions are "D" port, as opposed to rectangular port.  I have no idea what the configuration of the ports are on my engine.  Anybody know what the port configuration is on a stock L-82?  Don't want to take the manifolds off to find out.  Would rather have the new headers ready to be installed before taking off the originals.

....also, I believe they are 2.5 in. out the engine, back to the L-48 2.0 in. collector, and then back to 2.5 in. all the way back........not the best config.

L-48's are simply 2.0 in. from the manifold, all the way out the back of the car like it should be.

L-82's SHOULD be 2.5in. from manifold back.....but both engines used the same 2.0 in. collector.......bogging down the L-82, ......just like that crappy caty. converter design,.....two pipes into one converter,.....enough to make one sick.....horrible design......(can you tell I own a '75 L-82)?!......haha

Chevrolet was too cheap to build/install a 2.5 in. collector to put in the L-82 cars during the 70's

Oops......the MOPAR is coming out in me!.....lol

* I would tell him you want 2.5in. all the way back, true dual w/o that caty. converter (if you do not live in Cali.)

you will get better mileage and see #'s closer to 275hp/275lb.-ft
