I am going to change out my distributer and go with the HEI so do I need special plug wires and spark plugs.  Any suggestions on the best HEI dist. to go with and plugs etc. I have to have a tach drive dist. for the 68 which is a 350 engine. I have headers so I am concerned on high temp wires that will go with the HEI Distributer. Also the headers are very close to the Bosh plugs I have now. Would a shorter plug work for the 68.

I made this conversion on my 74. This si the best deal I found. http://www.dependonauto.com/heisbcandbbcdistributortachdrive.aspx
You will need new plug wires for the HEI. I purchased mine from Summit. They are Moroso wires. Don't get cheap. You also want to get the wire pigtail to connect your power wire to the HEI. You can get them right on the same sire as the the HEI or from Summit. At summit you can get individual wires. Some come with a second elect. tach wire.

Thanks, and I bought the dist. from dependonauto.com which was much cheaper then other sites. and my plug wires from Summit, Taylor made. Also added plug boots for protection on the new wires from my new headers at Summit. A little expensive on the protection boots though. I have the bosh platinum plugs but everyone tells me to get rid of them get a good AC plug. The vette runs great with the new distributer. Timed it a 4 degrees for the 350 and it seems to be just fine. Any suggestion on plugs though???
