Hello guys!
I'm back! Wel at least my work schedule allows me to be for a brief moment. Well, I've had the vette for 5 yearsnow workin on 6. Its still not done. Its closer than ever. I remember the last time I posted the car was at the Indian Springs prison at their paint and body / resto deal. That was rediculous. My car was left OUTSIDE for 2 MONTHS, with bird crap all over it, rain fell on it. I was pissed. And after 2 MONTHS of waiting they handed me a crazy pill price of 22k!!!! FOR PAINT AND TO MAKE A SCOOP!!!! I took it to a local shop we used my my sisters volkswagon repair. Its been in there for a few months now in good hands. Lots of progress has been made, lots of things have been changed. I am at the point now were we are going to install a super charger and the hood clearance ahs to be figured out.

I originally was going to go with a small blcok Vortech kit that as a V1 supercharger. It was looking pretty good until I got to a show yesterday and looked at a lot of vettes. Vortech told me the suercharger bracket was 19" from the block to the wheel well and the supercharger is 10" in diamiter.  I have A/C, power steering, the alternator. etc... the charger gets mounted on the side of the power steering and alternator (drivers side). I am afraid of all these items getting in the way. I don't think thats going to work, am I right?

I was looking at another option the ROOTS style Weiand 142 which I am told is made for hood clearance gentleman such as myself. Its a smaller intake that comes with it. I was told that fro the bottom of this intake to the top of the suer charger unit it was 9 and 3/4" and the length of the unit from the rear of the charger to the pully is 23 and 3/16" I no longer have a manual fan its all electric. I have a condensor for my A/c and the raiditor of course. The water pump is an electric one as well. Does anyone see any clearance issues? Don't forget the air cleaner and carb have to sit on top of that 9 and 3/4".

Sorry I have not been on latly guys. Any help is appreciated.

Thank-you,
-Louis

Mine is a BDS 671 that is too high for a normal hood. Maybe yours is a low profile. Good Luck
