Just a thought, and not even an original one at that(the owner of the idea can take credit of it if he wishes) but if instead of using a soda bottle you just buy a 20oz Poland Spring bottle, and either consume the expensive water and use tap on the car or just use it straight, there is a lot less chance of not cleaning the bottle thoroughly enough and getting who knows what into the motor.

well i saw a special on bottled water..
i think thereis more harmful material in bottled water than tap water..
there is one guy at fda whose job it is to monitor bottled water.
there is a whole division of the epa to monitor tap water..
i think its best to use just any old bottle with tap water..
that way you dont have to worry about minerals in bottled water.

I saw a special on 20/20 that showed some bottled waters came out of the local tap where it was bottled.
The company actually was a outside shed where one guy filled bottles. No difference. Others were worse than tap. Some were clean.
Weird stuff

OK guys - I tried the water trick today and I poured in a substantial amount of water - slowly - and not only did I not get black gray smoke, I got no smoke at all! I just kept pouring, kept the RPM's up, and nothing came out. As you know I have side pipes so I could see from where I was standing and Scot (Paragon75Ray) was on the other side and he didn't see anything out that side either. What does that mean?

ken may be right on this..
we all made the point that it should be a slow trickle..
maybe not that slow..
lets just say.. take it up to 2K rpm and add a rate so you have to give it a little more gas to keep it running
you should hear the engine bog down with the water..
the only time you wont have any carbon is after a fresh rebuild, but even then it should break loose some from exhaust..
there is a fine line you have to reach.. not enough and it wont steam clean, too much and youll kill the engine and make it hard to get started.. I wish there was a definite rate at which to add the water but there isnt .. its one of those things you just have to find yourself.
