Hey guys,
YOu may all want to condem me for this but: I wanted to try and get at least 400HP to the flywheel with the car. So far the engine builder estimates a top of 350HP at the flywheel.
So far the engine is lookin like this:
Bored .30 over stock blcok (350)
Edlebrock Intake #27012
Edlebrock Card #1406 600CFM
Edlebrock Air CLeaner EDL-1002
Hedmen Elite Headers #HED-68308 (Summit)
Stock AC Delco Fuel Pump Ecklers #A3635
MSD 6AL Ignition
Pro Electric(comp Cams) Pro Billet Ready to Run DIstributor
Bosch platinum 2 Spark Plugs
Original 3SP Turbo Hydro 350 TRANNY REBUILT
Custom Two-way exaust
Standard water pump (new)
Two 16" Electric fans
8.5(MM) MSD Superior conductivity spark plug wires
2 EDlebrock Elite VAlve cover breathers
Miller Roller rockers PVS series.
Thats a lot of stuff.
P/S can anyone show me a diagram other than the haynes/chiltons of how to install the oil pump?
Thanks guys,
-Louis

Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
Several problems with your outline.
Stock pump won't supply enough fuel fo 400HP.
The Edelbrock may or may not get the job done. Highly unlikely IMOO. 350HP is Ok on the Edelbrock
Dual 16" electric fans. Won't fit, unless you can prove me wrong. The rad. cores on our cars are only 26" across for small blocks. Dewitts even told me that the only units that will fit dual fan wise are the spal 13" units.
If you want 400 your going to need a good set of heads and a good cam.
headers, ignition, exhaust are all good pieces for making that number.

Perhaps I'll look at some new heads, and a new fuel pump. I know that specific carb might work; there is a good chance. The dude who buil't my engine reccomended it, and he is going to show me how to tweak it when I get it started so I can push out more with that carb.

i disagree.. I do not believe 600 CFM will take you to 400 hp

just slap on a blower. ba-zing, 400 hp, and a beautiful supercharger whine.

I tend to agree with the Edlebrock 600 not being a great choice. 400 hp is a lot to be asking for from a stock 600. I have been using Demons over the past couple of years and have been very happy with them. 850 race demon on my race car and a 650 Speed Demon, vac secondaries with electric choke on my 76. My motor is built to be about 400 hp and this carb works fine.
