ds.....could this be a left rear or right rear? or is it something else? THANKS!!

This shield goes on the pass side, rear two plugs. The large hole in the center is for the temp sending unit. I'mma thinking there were no front shields like this, but if your temp sender is in the driver side head(and some were), then it would go there.

Well Like I have said before......The more I learn the less I Know!!!I do believe that my temp sending unit is in the front ...drivers side, so, is there a diffrent rear right side shield for this application, or did chevy use the same shield, and, just not use the hole?? Thanks Eric M

I don't think this type of shield was ever used on the front two plugs on either side...just the rear. But....I've been wrong before.
On my '74, there is a temp sensor in both heads, one at the front on the driver side, and the rear on the pass side. The driver side sensor is for the temp gauge, and the pass side sensor is for the TCS system. Only the rear plugs have this shield, and that's the way the AIM shows it to be...you may simply have an extra shield....
