Hey guys! I got the MSD 6A ignition, with the spiro 8MM yellow wires.... I was thinking of using BOSCH PLATINUM 2 spark plus I heard they are the best, made of of porcilen...... Here are some pics for you guys: http://fattyslims.com/vette/pics/Restoration%20Part%202/newi gnition/

New parts are always fun. I would have thought that the new wires would have had yellow ends on them.

ive also heard good things about gm's rapid fire plugs- you can
get them for about 3.88 each at rockauto.com

i think you would use the rapidfire #2 i believe. (double check
me on that one)

im going with the rapid fires- ill post my results

correction, i meant AC DELCO rapid fire plugs!

I would prefer the A/C over the Bosch for a stock ignition.

Different brands of plugs use different internal resistance.  This is matched to the secondary ignition resistance.  It has nothing to do with the heat range. 

Although the spec on the plug are for a particular car, the internal resistance does not change.  So the resistance if off for off brands.

Americans get most of the secondary resistance in the plugs.  Europeans get most of the secondary resistance in the wires etc.  Asians are in between.

When you put Bosch in an American designed ignition, the resistance is too low.  The plugs can foul and misfire from a cold spark temp.  Again don't confuse this with heat range.  It's two different things.

American plugs in a VW will have way to high resistance, causing exstream spark temp that will burn the electrodes away very rapidly.

Once you use a aftermarket ignition system, these things vary quite a bit.  Some times a bit of experimenting is in order.

If the coil and wires are American type, I would stick with the A/C Rapid Fire.

I have a capacitive discharge box, MSD distributor and epoxy coil. I use AC rapid fire plugs and have had great results, no fouling or misses. I'm with Ken
