Well, I just checked with my jerk of a mechanic to see what the status was.

To make an annoying long story short, he can't even promise me it will be done by June 25th. That's right, you read that correctly... JUNE 25th He considers my car "filler work" and only works on it while he has nothing else to do. Jerk! I even offered more money, he didn't care.

So now, I have to take it to a 3rd shop to get finished. And he said he can't start it till next week, but should be able to work on it more steadily than the other guy. So he thinks the June 25th is reasonable, but he of course has not yet seen it, so can't really be sure.

GOD AM I P-O-ED! I WANT MY CAR BACK! The summer is gonna be over by time I get it back! I wanted it by this Saturday for a neat cruise CCDV is doing, but that's out! I wanted it by June 12th for the C3VR Hooters Cruise, but that's probably out! I wanted it by June 13th for the next CCDV meeting, but that's probably out. The next time I REALLY need it is June 25th to head the C3VR Caravan to Bowling Green. If I don't have it, I may as well cancel the caravan!

I needed to vent! And you guys/gals being fellow Vette owners can share my hostility, cause you know what it's like to be without your baby for so long, especially in the summer!

So calm me down...what is the bright side of this fiasco!?!? Is there a light at the end of this long tunnel? I can't see it yet!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

Adam, I feel for you man!! I know how pissed off I was when I went to start my car up for the S & S and nothing. I wish I could help you with a garage in the area but I'm afraid I don't know any |sad|
The bright side is, that you weren't driving her with your wife in the car and got involved in an accident. the car will get don before you know it. I know this doesn't help, but we're all pulling for ya!!

Adam,
Just a thought...did you try County Corvette in West Chester. He is a fairly large restoration shop and has a couple good mechanics. Maybe he can get you done sooner.

Adam, I understand your frustration. I've said much worse words in the past 6 weeks and I don't know how much longer it'll be. Seems they only wanna paint 70% of her....what are they thinking? Now I've gotta send a letter and photos as "proof" that I show, parade and cruise her. lol Whatever, I'll jump through your stupid hoops, but I want some more paint! lol And whoever says stuff like, "it's just a car" one more time, I swear I'm going to kick some tail!

I can understand your frustration Adam......I know how I felt before things got started on Rosie.....was all ready to get started...and something else would need the money more....that happened for almost a year!!!!!..and at the end of that year...was getting ready to go again...and the tranny went in the '94....well of course had to do THAT first!!!! I was getting to the point of just saying..ta hell with it!!!!! and was gonna sell it.
Hubby talked me out of it and a couple of months later finally ordered the first parts....still get frustrated at times...this PROJECT has been on the go for a year and a half now and still not done!!!!!! I was hoping for Labor Day...BUT...might not have it painted by then..and even after that still got alot of work to do on the interior...carpet seats etc etc etc....I think that I just might be insane before this is all said and done!

Sorry to hear about the set back Adam. I'd be really pissed too. It totally sucks when things don't go the way you want. I've had that happen many times too. Hang in there, it'll get done eventually.

Maybe try the Vette Shop in Warminster. Sean seems to primarily work on vettes of the 60's and 70's. He just did a fair job on my C5 exhaust and intake, but his primary knowledge appears to be in the C2-C3 era.
