The past owner of my 70 Vette removed the orginal exhaust manifolds and installed headers. He saved everything he took off. I just had the manifolds powder-coated and I'm ready to go back to the orginal. Anyone ever go through this with the engine in the car?

I need to do the same thing, but the previous owner of my 70 350/350 through everything away!
So far I have purchased the correct factory manifolds.
Cannot wait to hear how you make out. I assume you have to replace the entire exhaust system. Did the previous owner save all the brackets too?
Good Luck!

To B. Lennox,
So far your the only member to send me any message. But I had to send you a note back. You sent a picture of your Vette...Quess what?? It's the same colors as mine. I've seen the white with black top in magazines but so far I haven't seen another one at a show. When I was looking for a 68 - 72 Covertible, I was really looking for a Red one but now that I've gotten this one, I think it's sweet!!
And by the way, yes, I'm going to have a compete new exhaust system installed. I'm going with aluminum as it can be polished and lasts forever. The chrome tips will be steel. Good luck on yours. So far I'm waiting till the snow melts before I take it to Custom muffler show.

This site is great! I am sure we will hear something back soon.
Funny, I was looking for a Daytona yellow roadster with black interior. Everyone I saw was either a roach or way overpriceed because of the color.
Then I saw this one advertised, I went to look and thought man the white and black combo is striking! It was love at first site, especially a Texas car with almost no rust and some of the original paint still on the frame.
With regards to the shielding, I have the AIM and it does have some good detail abot the exhaust and how the shielding attaches. If you don,t have one call William's Corvette in Sumter, S. Car. He has them for $18.00 and he is a really nice and extremely helpful guy with a fair amount of used parts if you need them. I don't have his number handy or I would give it to you. I found him on the web.

P.S. The picture of the car is part of my signature now at this website.
