Louis,
You're welcome. If you ever need to vent, or talk, please feel free to p/m me at any time. Looks like you took the initiative once again, I'm proud of you. Keep it up, and like I said, if you screw it up, just let us know, and we're there.
NASTY pics. of the hands. A little suggestion for next time...
Latex-it's not just for proms anymore. Go to the Home Depot, and buy a box of latex gloves. Cheap insurance for the hands when you're using any chemical.
Later, Buddy.

Louis, in 1963 I was 8. The new Stingray came out. My uncle bought one in 65. I wanted it bad. Then in 1968 came the C3. Now at the ripe old age of 13 I was hooked forever. From that time to now I wanted a C3. I got one last year, at 48 years old. It's not on the road yet, and I turn 50 this summer.
You are 17. I'm not griping for me, I'm telling you how good it can be. Even in bad times. If it's on hold for a few weeks, you will still get it done. How may guys your age have something like that, and have the advantage of spending time with your Dad in a project. Hey Louis, your life IS good. You just hit a few bumps. There will be many many more bumps in life. Sometimes brick walls. There is always another way. Go get that other job and keep asking questions. When you get out of college, you can drive here in your Vette, and we'll go cruisin.
And when you get that new job pick up some of the hand cream that creates a sealed barrier. You apply it and it keeps grease, oil, etc from getting into your skin. And get the gloves as well. I had similar problems at your age due to just the regular hand cleaners. I found if I washed my hands with Tide clothes detergent, it helped them head. My doctor's advice. Sometimes I still do that when I get chapped badly.
You're young, healthy, fed, clothed, and own a vette. You are WAY ahead. Get your rear in gear, get a new job, suck it up, and fix that car! You are the youngest one here. Make us proud!
surprised what you can do on your own when thats the only
resource you have. i remember when i was about 21 or so, i
had my cars front end crap out. with little or no experience, and
a little help from a chilton manual, i completely rebuilt the front
end including ball joints, hubs, rotors and brakes! i had to do it
since i had no ride to work the next morning! sure as hell, i got it
done and got to work. made rent one more month!
the guys are right- dont worry if you dont get that vette finished
soon- sometimes is just as rewarding taking your time and
doing right, even if you have to do it one bolt and nut at time.
believe me i know how it feels to want to get all those
awesome parts together and get rolling- everytime im ready to
order a juicy part or mod, bam! rents due- bam! daily driver
needs a new tranny! bam! root canal! it never ends.
what ive been doing is one thing at a time. somtimes its as
simple as just taking some trim off, cleaning it, repainting it and
putting back youd be surprised what you end up with over time.
make sure you take lots of pics along the way. its fun to watch
them as a slide show when your done. its like watching it morph
before your eyes. (make a computer video presentation with
music- it would be a cool thing to see)
just hang in there. youve got lots of support with the c3vr guys.
