Fellow Vetters can you help ?

I wish to set/check the timing on my 76 Vette and acording to the book i have (Haynes) it tells me to read the label under the hood for basic instructions, of course the label is not there, not that that is a big deal, but the problem i have is to do with the vacuum line, 'To desconnect or not to disconnet' that is the question, in other words do i check the timing with the vacuum line to the distributor disconnected and plugged or do i leave it connect ???

If it makes a difference i do not have points in the distributor it appears to be electronic (this shows how much i know about Vette engines !!!)

HELP !!

Thanks

Gary

Dissconnect the line at the vacuum advance, and plug it off with  a screw or tape, and don't forget if you take the air cleaner off, plug off that hose too

Gotta agree with anips on that one.  Get yourself a genuine Corvette manual then you'll know it's right.
