Looking for bolt size

Vette(s): 1975 convertible,with the hard top and power streering.it a 350 L48 with auto trans. the color is light blue.
I'm changing the hold down on my valve covers from studs back to bolts....my question is what is what size bolts are used with the black finned alumnimum covers.(1/4-20 x?)

Yup...1/4-20 if older style heads...center bolt heads????.

Found one I replaced. Measures 1" from below the head. Some of the suppliers sell the corect replacements for the finned aluminum covers.

Sorry about that.....yep Barry I'm looking for the length,I don know if they are 1/4-20x1 or 1/4-20x1-1/4

Ya gotta figure in the thickness of the gaskets, too. There are some out there that are about twice as thick as originals...most aftermarket gaskets seem to be a little thicker. So, if you happen to have the cast covers with thick gaskets, the 1 1/4" will prolly be correct.
