I don't think I would run the marvel mystry oil in there very long. I have used it to free things loose but wouldn't reccomend it to run.(items that have siezed) It may not fair to well with heat breakdown. Don't get to worked up over the lifter tick. It is not uncommon and realitively minor.

I agree on the mystery oil...it's called mystery fer a reason!
I would change the oil before long, whether the noise goes away or not. I have heard of folks doing this back in the "old" days...actually, my Dad used to do it on some of the old farm equipment that sat for a while. The reasoning then was to help lube the valves/guides, and, theoretically help "un-stick" the oil control rings on the pistons. Don't know if it actually did any good, tho...
If the noise continues, I would suggest pulling the valve cover, and checking the rockers. It could be that one of them just got a bit loose.

Go down to your local GM dealer and get some EOS (Engine Oil Supplement) . It's about $5.00 a bottle. Pour that in with the oil and a lot of times it will free up a sticky lifter. It's really great for engines with a few miles on them to freshen them up. Just need to do it to freshen the engine up every so often. The stuff works wonders. I pour it in all my new engines before start up which is what it is for, break in oil. but it sure frees up sticky lifters on engines with a few miles on them. Thumbs%20Up

If it's not painted, Chrome it!!!
