I resently rebuilt a pre 1968 350 motor for my 77. Had the engine bored out 30 over, mild cam and 10 to 1 compresion. After breaking it in I put Mobil one in it. Now it goes through about a qt. of oil every 2 to 3 hundred miles. There is no smoke and the car runs great. I got about 1.500 miles since I rebuilt it.Right now it setting in a heated grage for the winter.A great mechanic who works on my newer cars told me to go back to reg. oil. When I do that I'll let you all know if it stops burning oil. |cheers| |cheers|

Vette(s): Owned a Red 75 corvette between 1985-1993. Recently purchased a 76 buckskin Corvette.
Personally, I use Synthetic oils in vehicles that travel alot or is a straight race car.

If you change your dino oil every 3000 miles, you wont have any problems. My 86 Areostar has 225,000 miles on it and the engine is still clean inside and burns no oil. I changed it every 3000.
