I just replaced my original starter with a rebuilt. I did this because my garage suggested that I change it as it was going. Outside of one time the starter wouldn't catch I was not having any problems with it. I took out old starter put in new and now I get nothing. No noise, no grunting, nothing. I took the starter back to the auto store and they tested it and it was fine. Upon further checking there is power to the main termanal on the celeniod but no power to the wire that goes on the "S" termanal. Any ideas on what I should look for to fix this and get me back on the road again?

The wire that goes to the s terminal should be a purple wire in most cases. Do you have the right one? It comes from the neutral safety switch in an automatic, and the clutch switch in a stick. Check there and see if you have power.

You may want to check all the fusiable links and fuses, you may have blown one while working on the starter.

If you didn't dis-connect the battery then yes, it is most likely a blown fuse as ken stated. You should unhook the battery anytime you are doing something electrical.
