Not unless you absolutely have to. I assume you mean the rubber on the mounted separated. If this is the case go easy on the gas. Don't want the motor to rock up into the hood and crack the fiberglass. That being said I found my mount was torn in two when I pulled the engine this winterShocked. Luckily I hadn't been doing burnouts.

I would not drive it like that. If the engine rocks too far it can do some damage.

I would put new motor mounts in first.  GM was known for Blah Motor Mounts back then - at least that's the way it was with my '69.  I replaced those puppies before I even drove the old girl. WinkLOL

If you can, find mounts that have the T bracket design. I am not sure when the first started using them but it is a good thing to have. My original mounts did not have them. I had a mount from a 79 Vette that did. If the mount should come apart again, the T bracket design will limit the travel.

I would avoid driving it unless you absolutely have to. No high RPMs and drive like grandma on Sunday.

A '77 should have the safety mounts to start with.
That being said, I would refrain from any driving other than just puttin around, until they were replaced. The engine lifting up on one side will also effect the angle of the drive-line, and can cause some rotational vibrations, as well as the coming together of parts that ain't supposed to come together, like the driveshaft, and the park brake cable...or the fan and the shroud...or a hose and a belt...

The good thing is, mounts on Sharks are fairly easy to replace, compared to other cars.

Joels got that right.... Chances are it won't hurt anything but why do it? The motor mount is cheap and fairly easy to replace. Likewise you know its broke so any additional damage done is not going to make you feel very good about not replacing it.

Most likely if you continue to drive it you will find yourself replacing both mounts (which I would anyway) and possibly the tranny mounts because of the additional stress they are now carry as a result of the broken one.
