Mounts are either broken or not. If one is broke than its a good thing to change them all. If you are worried about them than it would be a good time to change them. To check the motor mounts you can put a floor jack under teh oil pan with a block of wood on it and see if one side or lifts off the mount when you jack it up. Open the hood first. Same thing can be done on the trans. Make sure to jack it up just enough to get the weight off the frame but do not try to lift the whole car. You will see the motor start to twist if a mount is broken

Don't have a jack?
Have a 'trusted' friend put the car in gear, with a firm foot on the brakes and ease into the gas pedal.
Just as mentioned before, the motor will twist, causing the fan to hit the shroud.
If your fan shroud is already broken, that's a good indication of a broken mount.
