Hey everyone,
Just wanted to see what kind of gas mileage everyone's getting out there... Let's see your engine specs, what octane you use, and how heavy your foot is, hmmm, on a scale of 1-5 (1=grandma, 5=Al Unser Jr.). And if it's highway or city driving mostly...

Ok here you go. 1974 stock, as far as I know, 350, 195 hp, run 92-93 octane, MPG, waiting to see since I just put a new tank, but before the tank about 9MPG. Heavy foot, hmmmm, in town 3, interstate, hmm hmm, probably 5, I know that my baby will do everything on the speedo (160) and do it very quickly.

RX....Stock and still does 160? I thought official release was 129....they probably aren't big on underselling the top speed....are they? (the 129 is from 1975(my year) but its the same CID and HP) it might be more than stock =) mine get around 12 but I've only run 1/2 tank thru total and a lot of that was idling and sprints in the driveway. now she's at the shop so I can get her inspected and insured =)!!!!

Last year I went to Carlisle on the PA turnpike. Average MPG for the entire trip was 16.5
Around town I usually average around 13-14 but that usually includes the occassional heavy foot...
The white princess is just an L48 but it has 3:36 gears. Usually use 89Octane.

I drive about a #3. I get 9-10 MPG. The new 274 XE cam and fast burns heads love their gas. I also run a 650 Speed Demon Carb. with mechanical Secondaries which hurts mileage.

15MPG consistently. I drive 250 miles a week, mostly highway miles. #2 on your driving agressiveness scale. Stock L48/TH400 with 3.08 gears. Joe
PS I would love to have a big block but the gas consumption would kill it for a daily driver.

My neighbor has a 65 Sting Ray w/454 that he claims gets about 23mpg, but he hardly drives it, and he drives like an old lady. I dunno how accurate his numbers are, but I figured I'd throw that into the fray

Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
Sorry, but I think he wishes to get that kind of mileage. I get between 10-12 mostly around town, some highway. With the 3.55 rear axel, it spins at about 3000 at 60 mph. Maybe I'm wrong, but he is dreaming!!!

My 427 get a pretty steady 15 on the turnpike. Around town, well, I usually get 10-12 but have gotten as low as 6....I like it when the secondarys kick in
