Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
So, lets get some Engine converstation going...
I started ripping out the crappy 195hp, 350ci that's in my dog. I was thinking about just rebuilding, but I think I need more power grunt, grunt!
Anyone wanna tell me what I should consider putting in it's place in my '79?

Three letters..... ZZ4. Well, that's two letters and a number. 355hp, 405 ft-lbs for just over $3 grand. With heads and a new cam.... 430/430! This is way I want to go wtih my motor once I get everything else settled.
If you're worried about emissions, there are people out there who got them to pass. Since my car is a '70 and I'm in Michigan (no testing of any vehicles) I don't have to even worry.
Good luck with the R&R.

Adam,
CUBIC INCHES!! If you have the money and you want to build a beast, install one of GM's 502 ci monsters!!
Nothing like a Big Block Corvette!!!

Do what I did, drill a 2 bolt block for splayed caps, install SCAT crank, H-beam rods (I used 5,7".. should have used 6"), flat top forged pistons (TRW 464664 L82), clevite 77 bearings, modded oil pump & rear cap. Good heads (afr 195 74cc), moon crossram w/ 4 dellorto DHLA Tr-Jet carbs, twin rotomaster turbo's, ZF-6 speed & C4 rear suspension (working on front suspension)
Enough oomph for now!

I agree with the ZZ4 !!
Best money ever spent on my Vette.
I documented everything I did on my swap. Check it out in full detail at http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/bseery//zz41.htm
