Nice decision on the EFI. I can tell you from personal experience that it is a really fun and easy system to work with. Just FYI, the accel and Edelbrock are two different units. The Holly and Accel are the same.
I have the Edelbrock Pro Flo EFI in my 69 on my 454. The Edelbrock tech unit has been a pleasure to work with. They do return emails within 24 hours (sometimes in 10 minutes), and they do take and return calls. I had a faulty computer in the very start of my project. They dropped shipped a replacment overnight!
The O2 sensor is a pain no matter what you do. With the sidepipes, I had to put in outboard of the car and run the wire harness through the side gill. Regular headers would be better going under the car, but then you don't have the cool look of headers.
You will be very pleased. I am sure this other deal will work out.
Do you already have the EFI unit? Mine was on super duper back order and took several months to come to me. I would suggest you go ahead and order it if you can so that you get it in time to get the project going.
Oh, you will be tight on hood clearance. They use the air gap manifold which gives little room even with the L88 hood. You have to get a drop down base and no more than a 3" filter.
Good luck, and let me know if there is anyway I can help you out.
You can see more pics of my engine with the EFI on it at my homepage.

Good luck Glenn,
Nothing gets my blood boiling more than a cheat.
I have been taken so many times over the years that I have become hyper sensitive to this kind of thing. I agree with you, I won't pay for something twice. I will pay a lawyer first.
Hope all comes out well.
Alex

Chris,
I was under the impression that all three units were the same just had different names on them. Thanks for the info on them being different.
I do have the Eelbrock EFI unit and had it port matched to the heads and the runners internally polished. They actually took a ton of material out of the runners to increase flow. The machinist did not tell me the total flow numbers but he did say they were awesome.
I have a question for you. You said there would be a clearance problem even with the L88 hood and I should use a drop down filter assy with 3" filter. There are sensors mounted at the top of the throttle body horizontal to the manifold about 3" long. How the heck do you get a drop down filter assy. to fit over them???
I was going to look for a flat filter assy. Definately any info you share with me on this will save me MUCHO grief !
Thanks in advance for what ever help you can give me on this !

I hope you have receipts or a contract or something to prove you own the engine, and parts and what you have paid him to date. If you do take him to small clames court. Its cheep to file a case, lawyers are no allowed, except for advice. This way you save money. Let me know how you make out.
Thanks Glenn AKA Milkman

Unfortunately nothing yet. The attorney sent him a certified letter to inform him about his options, but he won't go pick up the letter. Just a delaying tactic. I guess he feels the longer he plays games, the more it will cost me. Who knows how an idiot's mind works? I really don't expect to see the motor before mid summer at this rate. The funny thing is, the attorney told me that the court won't issue a paper telling him to give up the engine, they give him a dollar figure he must pay so in theory he either pays the money or he tries to sell teh engine at a sheriff's sale and he turns over whatever he gets for it to me. Yes, there are pitfalls there. He could have one of his buddies go and bid $200.00 for it and if there are no other bids, he gives me the $200.00 and he has met his obligation. The quick fix for that is for me to bid exactly what he owes me and if no one outbids me, he just gives me the engine. I just have to make sure I am there for the sale.
Anyhow, I most likely won't see the engine in the car till next winter. Don't really want to take it off the road during the summer, but I guess if I get a real good price from someone to do the engine swap, I will be open minded

As strange as it sounds, my attorney told me that "most" of these cases are settled with a pair of bolt cutters.
