I cleaned up that bottom set of numbers and its the same as my vin. So, I know its the original motor. Not sure what the upper set mean though.
CLA is a 350ci 180hp automatic transmission.
I don't have the decoder for the date stamp.
Thank you. Its original for sure..Maybe 1203 is the build date for the engine since its a 12/11/76 assembly date for the car. V ehhh don't know..Maybe plant?
"V" is the Flint Engine assembly line, 12= December, 03= 3rd day of December. The serial number gives the year, in this case it is 1977. "CLA" is L48, 350ci engine, Federal Emissions, for a turbo 350 trans, as has been stated. So the engine was assembled and date stamped at the Flint Engine plant on December 3rd, 1977. The VIN was stamped at the St. Louis assembly line.
