Topic: Need some help identifying carburetor

Took the carb off of "The Toy" to see if I could find a rebuild kit for it. The couple of parts houses I went to could not find any listing for it. It is a Holley spread bore (I know - it is supposed to have a Q-Jet) that was on there when I bought the car.
Here's all the numbers/codes I could find on it:

Any ideas what model number this could be? If noone has any clue I guess I'll have to get in touch with the kids at Holley.

Is there no number on the top/front of the choke tower?
I'll dig out my trusty old Jiffy Kit catalog...might be a reference in there, unless the carb is fairly new. The "donut like stamping with 97 in the middle" sounds like the year of manufacture to me, which means my book won't have that in it.
The "Top plate: 6210-3" looks like a normal Holley number...

That's all the numbers/codes I could see on the darn thing. At purchase time (April, 2000) I was told that the engine had been recently gone through but the dealer didn't have any more info than that. So if "97" is indeed the year of manufacture it is within the realm of possibility that was when the engine was gone through.

Check with the Carburetor Shop. 2277 White Bear Avenue (just south of HWY 36), 651-770-3505. I am sure if you take them the carb, they can identify it for you.

Thanks Larry. I have driven by that place when over to the North St. Paul History Cruise. It is a heck of drive over there from my place so may have to call them as "The Toy" will be going off-site soon.

Hey Jim, this is a link to another "forum" that has an exploded diagram of a holley, pointing to the spot that is supposed to have the carb number... i know you said you looked, but sometimes those numbers can be faintly stamped... this guy was having the same problem, but did find 8700 stamped there(can read the posts there :) good luck!!

Thanks Jimmy. The circled spot on that diagram is where I found the Top Plate numbers I listed. Both parts places I went to couldn't find those numbers in any Holley books. Got some more investigating to do I guess.

The Holley 6210-3 is basically an emissions-legal replacement for the Quadrapuke. The Holley part number/ID is 4165 The Holley is smaller than a Q-poop, being only 650 cfm. As such, it is
jetted lean for use on a stock vehicle, and it uses #60 jets on the primary side with #83 jets on the
secondary, with an #8.5 power valve.
Jim, try seeing if they can get a kit using the 4165 number....they might be able to reference that. I knew that the 6210-3 was the right list number. They should be able to use a Holley "list" # for a kit,,,don't know why they can't, unless you're dealing with guys like I do sometimes, where you have to tell them what color the car is just to get a dang oil filter...

The "Renew" kit is a basic O/H kit, with gaskets, needle/seat(s), and the rubber stuff. The "Trick Kit" used to come with extra stuff like power valves, and better materials for the needles/seats and gaskets, as well as some "Hop Up" tips.
