I got the new Summit today and was looking through it and found a cool new crate motor.
It's a GMPP LS-1 type engine with a 4-barrel manifold.
I know FI runs better, but it's cool to be able to buy the new engines now without all the computer stuff on them. It makes 446 HP at 6,200 and 412 pounds of torque at 5,000 rpm. I don't think the price is bad....5,379.79.
It looks cool.

Is that the 364 CID all alluminum block? I looked into that engine too, I think it is a great way to make horsepower and it is very efficient. Only problem is the ignition system. It takes a spark drive or something like that. New on the LS series of engine blocks. That is the engine in the GTO by the way, with different fuel delivery.

Hell I wish I had the money to buy it. In Carson City you can ride or drive all you want.
This engine comes with coil packs...so does that mean it doesn't use a distributor? I'm lost on all this new stuff.

No distributer, itscalled a spark drive, fits in the front, sort of like the opti spark on the LT1 engine used in the C4 vette. I really do not know much about it either, but I do know it needs a 'puter.
i was looking into the zz383 (gilbert chevrolet) 450hp@5600rpm, and 488lb/ft torque at 4400rpm for $6695.00. is anyone running the zz383?

if so is it what you would expect from a stroker and will it fit under the LT1 hood? i have a 1970 350/350 with 380lb/ft of torque.
