VWOOOM VWOOOM!!!!

I hope yer engine builder gave you instructions on cam "break-in", John. Set the idle up to 2500rpm for about 30 minutes upon first firing it up.(unless it's a roller, then...nevermind)

Thanks JoelThumbs%20Up! He already broke it in. I have a video and everythingCool!

Today was a slow progress day. We spent the morning out getting bolts, adapters, hoses, and other needed items. This afternoon we made some slow progress, getting vacuum lines hooked up (and putting the fittings on the manifold for them), etc. Tonight the goal is to replace the power steering hoses. Hope to have the radiator and associated stuff in tomorrow.Smile All I can say is thank goodness I got some ceiling mount electric heaters for the garage. It's been windy/rainy in the low 50's here and I've been working on the car while wearing shortsWink.

Update - 11/13/2006

We got the radiator/support and fan shroud in today. Fixed a minor fuel leak, hooked up the HEI, and added coolant. We went back through our checklists, did a triple check, and then fired the sucker up. It ran great since is was already setup by the builder and broken in for 45 minutes. We did a bunch of checks for leaks, adjusted the coolant level as needed, and bled the power steering system (put on a new resivoir/pump and hoses). After checking everything out, we took it out for a short spin - with the top down. Yes, it was 50 degrees outside, but who cares? It drove great. Joel - the transmission is great. It shifts great and it's nice to drive without having to hold the car in gearWink! If anyone out there needs transmission work done, send it to Joel. Anyways, we still have a few things on the immediate list. We need an adapter to hook up the vacuum hose for the power brake booster. For some reason, when I press on the brakes, both turn signal lights on the dash light up. We still have to put on the hood. I need to remove the top panel of tghe console bacause ithe whole thing isn't fastened properly and interferes with shifting. That will get fixed properly whenever I redo the interior. So, it's now back on the road. And since I'm in Alabama, I'll get many good days over the winter when I can drive her. Progress is a good thing...Big%20smile

By the way, all the gauges work. Even the mechanical tach Star!

               YAAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!
KEWL!!!

Check your front turn sigs when you mash the brakes...if they come on too, your turn sig switch is bad... Also, unplug the emergency flasher to see if it is stuck. It could cause the same problem.

I'm glad ya got that moster runnin again!!!! Enjoy it while the weather is still halfway decent!!

                                          ATTA BOY, JOHN!!!

John, I have" D "port heads on my 1976- ZZ4, the manufacture said it is OK to use any kind of headers but, at the flat part of the "D" with round pipe it will create a slight eddie? The exhaust flow will be disturbed at this point and not flow as smooth, but they said I would not notice,? I purchased headers for the "D" port heads anyway..Thumbs%20Up Look'en good..
