Does anyone know where and if Chevrolet makes an 82 crossfire engine? If not, what's the next best engine to handle the frame and fit the inside of the 82's engine compartment? Might exchange engines if my original is bad. Thanks for your two cents.

The crossfire engine is just your standard small block chevy (SBC)with the first attempt for electronic fuel injection manifold on top. Any SBC will drop right in no problem. You may want to keep it a 350 for a match in performance. It is a good opertunity to upgrade the performance of the engine. Unless you wish to keep it all origional, the crossfire manifold is not the best for high performance. If your interested, Some of us members of c3vr have already done this and give you a good strategy to go by. If you are just looking for numbers matching all origional then just drop off you motor at a good engine rebuilder, Unless you feel up to task at rebuilding it yourself.

and i was looking around at the crate motors..

gm is using demon carbs for their HP/torque testing..

makes me feel better about that 500$ carb..
