ConfusedDrove to work yesterday car(82) ran fine. On the way home it started to studder/miss,shudder. Idles fine. I can sit a rev it and it does great. Then I put it in drive start to put a load on it and this is when it starts to shutter/miss then smooths out when I reach a constant speed.  I try to accellerate some more and I get it again. I'm not sure if it's a engine issue, tranny or rear end.

Sounds like an ignition breakdown...the coil may be ready to take a dump. It could also be a plug wire arcing.
Will it do it if you put the trans in manual low? Reverse?
Will it do it if you "power brake" it? (Foot on brake, in gear, with medium throttle)

That will be my first stop at the plug wires. Then the coil. The ignition module might be on the outs. Can they check it at the parts house?? Then I'll try your suggestion on  the trany. I'll check all this out when I get home tonight. it's just funny that it ran great then started to act up. But, that the nature of cars.
Thanks,Smile

The problem is solved. The front drivers wheel was loose. It made the car shake/shudder. The lug nuts for my alum. wheels were incorect. The lugs were a little to long and would bottom out and not snug the wheel. The person who had the car before me got the wrong lug nuts. Luckly I had ordered the correct ones and they showed up today. The only reason I ordered them is because the ones I had were a little beat up. I didn't realize at the time that the lugs I had were wrong.
