Can anyone help.... On my small block, the oil dipstick tube has broken off.  What's the easiest method of removing the remaining tube still pressed in the block?  Also, is there a lower tube going into the pan area?

Is the tube flush?  If so you may be able to use and easy out and get a grip on the old tube, give it a bit of a twist, and pull it out.   If worse comes to worse, you can remove the oil pan and tap it upward from below. 

If there is a small bit sticking out, grab it with a vice grips, and twist and pull.

There is no lower section.  It only goes into the block about an inch.  The tube is held in place only by friction and the bracket that attached to the engine from the tube.

Try the ease-out first, as Ken suggests. If that doesn't do it, you can tap the tube for threads, run a bolt in it, and pull it out by the head of the bolt. Spray it with WD40, or similar, and let it soak a while, before you try any method.
Worst case, knock it all the way thru, into the pan, and then either fish the piece out thru the drain plug(good luck), or pull the pan to remove the piece. If the ease-out, or threading trick don't work, you're pulling the pan, anyway.

How about a lag bolt, almost like an EZ out if you don"t have one, you won"t have to tap it and maybe get debris down into the pan, try to get a bolt that is just the right size, to big and it will exspand the tube,

Thanks for everyone's suggestions.  I pulled the pan and the lower tube was in place, so I pushed it upward and the broken off upper tube popped out.
