Topic: Oil Pan Question
in Forum: C3 Engines
After 34 years of abuse, I think I am going to change my oil pan this year. I have a question for you gurus, My car has 44,000 miles on it, while I am changing the oil pan, what else should I replace in there while doing this? Any input would be appreciated.

I can't share all the photos, but Here is the oil pan on my engine that I'm building. Its a Milodon Road Race pan designed for Corvette and Camaros. Has all the built in trap doors and everything. Very trick.

Hope this links to it.

Part number on it is31505.
7-5/8" deep. It has two kickouts so it will need to have a offset mini or power master style starter to work.

Yes very hefty, but don't rule out trying to get a pan like this. I stuck with a name brand, but there are lots of other pans out there that are not quite as expensive and have similar features.
you can try one of the following companies.
Canton, Hamburger, TD Performance Products, Summit, Professional Products, Moroso, Mr Gasket, Jegs, Champs.
I went with a proven piece with all the bells and whistles. Has four trap doors built in the pan to trap oil around the pickup to prevent cavitation.

I have a new Milodon pan I only ran for one season. Motor went south in my other car. Didn't blow or anything and the crate motor has one on it. Part number from Summit is MIL-30700 . Make an offer. Even have the same box it came in.
