I've been looking at engine rebuilding kits on E-Bay and was wondering what the general opinion was on this 383 kit. Are these good parts and brands and worth the money or could I do better for the money. And most importantly, would they hold up? Thanks

Sounds OK to me, good parts, 99.5 posi out of 13+ K deals on e-bay, because they are a business you can call them explain what you have in mind and go from there, might want to talk to them about an oil pan, because of the stroker crank the block has to be relieved at the bottom along the gasket rails for clearance, might need a special pan, because you are buying the kit from them they might give you a break on additional parts you might need. As far as holding up depends on how you drive the car, compare the prices from Summit and Jeg's Cat's, when it comes to an engine I would spend more than less, or what I could afford. anips38526.7905208333

Looks like a good enough deal, but have you checked locally for a shop that could supply a similar kit for you? There is one thing I saw in the listing that would need to be verified before I bought that kit, and it is.."Speed Pro "K" series moly rings ". The pic shows a set of 'Hastings' rings, which, imho, are crap. You might ask if this kit actually had Speed-Pro rings.
I'm not familiar with the city/town of DeBerry, but if it's in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I could hook you up with a shop that builds strokers for a few of the local 'Vette guys here. So far, all of them have been happy with the work and quality of hardware. Don't know if they sell parts,or just complete assys, but I could check, if you wanted.

Thanks, both of you. I'll check about those rings. Adam, do you know about what that shop charges to build one? I'm over by the La. line, a couple hours away. Thanks

The stroker 383 is a great way to go, but maybe consider power in the top end.  A 383 piston knuckles over pretty hard at the top of the stroke.  No big deal since we don't build them to go past 50K.  There is a lot of power to be gained in the heads alone.
