Hiya George,
Pistons in, cam degreed. Need to torque everything in the bottom end and put on the pan. Heads ready. I'm ready, just can't pin down the guy who has the engine in his garage. I REALLY hope I can get this damn thing buttoned up by Friday night so I can set up a time for the engine dyno, which by now will probably be so long from now it will seem like sometime after the 12th of never!
Ah well, inexpensive labor, what 'r ya gonna do?
Did get the hood back and tehy matched the color about as close as it can be matched and the distributor finally came in from Summit after over 3 months of waiting.
If I can find a way to get away with it, a nitrous bottle would look real good behind the drivers seat. Unfortunately the wife could see it there. Damn, I just thought of it...who needs a spare? Maybe I can get a bootle to fit in the spare tire compartment????

Maybe one of those donut shaped LPG tanks (that are designed to go in place of the spare tire) would be a solution.

Now, that's a good thought. I'll have to ask the speed shop if they would fill it with NOS. Guess that would depend on the pressure rating of the different bottles ( assuming there is a different rating )
Thanks ! |devil|

Now that the cold weather has slowed work in the garage I hope to get to work on the mouse. Have you done most of the work at home. I plan to finish striping down and then send it out to the shop for cleaning and inspection. After that I want to save as much $$$ as possible. I don't have any idea of time yet. Good luck with the rat will be waiting for the dyno figures. |cheers| Happy Thanhs Giving

Actually, I have done none of the work at home. I purchased the engine from a club member and it has been sitting in his garage in various states of disassembly for a few months now. I had a local speed shop ( Poke's Performance) boil the block and had the heads and intake done by Spyder Race Head Prep. I am REALLY hoping to finish engine assembly tomorrow. I seem to be having trouble getting the guy to show up at his shop when he says to meet him there. I know that sounds strange....he is a mechanic but not full time. He just does specialty jobs when the mood strikes.
I will post all the info on the engine on my web page on this site when everything is complete. So far I am up to about $5000.00 in parts and am starting to think a crate engine might have been cheaper but then I would have been stuck with a carburator again instead of a nice fuel injection unit.
