I could use some advice on distributor pickup coil replacement.

Last night I was disassembling the original distributor from my 75, and ol' fumble fingers here dropped the circular magnet that sits inside the pickup coil and it broke into 2 pieces (pictured lower left).  Too much solvent in the air I guess.

 

I looked to replace the entire pickup coil but I'm only finding no-name parts and I don't want to put cheap junk in my distributor.  Can anyone recommend a solid replacement brand?  Or, should I scavenge an old magnet and just replace that part?

I'd like to get the advice folks that have replaced these before and what works best.

Also, pictured in the lower center is what looks to be a felt ring that sits between the coil and the distributor housing.  This one appears worn and oil soaked.  Is there a replacement for this with updated gasket material or rubber or is felt the best option? I'm not sure if this should or should not actually contact the housing, and seeing as how there's a significant amount of current flowing through this device, the difference between insulation and conduction is probably important.

Any advice and comments are always appreciated.

 

I'm not aware of the magnet being available anywhere, either as an assy with the pick-up, or any other way. My bet is you'll need to find a used distributor and swap it out.
The felt piece is an oil wick...it helps lubricate the upper shaft, but keeps oil from getting any farther into the dist. It does need to stay in there. Either make your own, or possibly source one from the used dist you get the magnet from. From the pic, it doesn't really appear to be in bad shape.
