Ok Terry I know you think I have been goofing around so here is the proof I am actually doing something. The project is going a little slow right now. Working lots of hours at the office. It's going to get even worse for the next 2 months.
Here is the engine installed
Still need to put the hoses on and manual heater shut off valves. Bleed the brakes, install carb and plugs and a few other things
Here is the starter wrap. I stitched an end cover on to it for protection from the header down tube heat. Used fine armature wire for the thread.
Sweet Glen, Shes looking mighty fine. After looking at that I just had to go out and sit in mine tonight and get all pumped up about the coming trip, get to see you all again and cruise the USA in my 76 Chevrolet, Corvette, O'baby..Not long now..

You lucky dog, wish I was going with you this year.
I am going to take a weekend trip with friends from here to a car show in Polson Montana. May also try and make the vette show in Tigard this year too.
OK Glen, does this mean we will stop every 3 hours and wash the cars, wipe down the headers and polish the chrome on the way to Arkansas? All I need every 3 hours is a tank full of gasoline..Lets roll Glen

P.S Invest in a set of heat shield boots for the spark plugs wires between the headers, save the wires, I burnt almost every wire going to Pigeon Forge..No problems now..
Terry,
Where did you get the heat shield boots.. I have the same problem. I get about 1+ year out of a set of wires, and that ain't many miles either... plug wires are gettin' expensive too... I have heard that the big block is worse due to all the heat, but maybe they will help. I considered the ceramic boots/wires but hate to spend 200+ and have them burn up too...
