I was just reading the post on road demon vac advance. It stated there should be no vac advance at idle. On my Q-jet, when I hook up the vac line up to my dist. at idle the engine revs. up. Is there something wrong with my set up?

There were a few Q-jets that did supply some timing advance at idle. No many, and I don't recall any on the Vette. Mostly the Olds 307.
Chances are the throttle is opened a bit too far. If your idle is at the correct speed some other adjusments many be in order. Timing, fuel mix, vacuum leaks, secondaries slightly open etc.

I checked the timing vac line to where it is connected to the Q-Jet and it is in the correct port.(front far left mid carb.)As far as carb. adjustment, it was just rebuilt by LARS(the carb god). My timing is set at 6 degs. inital with vac advance unhooked and pluged. When I hook the vac line back up to the dist. the idle goes much higher. I do remember when I first got the carb back I had to lower the idle some. My tach is not working so setting the idle is by ear. Any other ideas?
