Why do you need to change anything? The LT1 runs like a Bear now.
I would just keep all the original stuff and enjoy the LT1 like it is. Unless you are doing a full restoration on the boy! Larry won at least 2 trophies with it the way it is.  just my .02 Big%20smile

Steve, when I saw the chrome valve covers instead of the ribbed ones,Cry heck I know it wont change how it runs, I know it won some trophies the way it is, but I also know ever time I have ever seen a picture of them stock motors I saw them cool-cross flags- valve covers.

So now I got a car that had them stock I am going to get em back on there somehow. Kind of show it the way God, Country, and Chevy meant them to be!

They do make adapters for the heads that will allow the use of the older, 4-bolt valve covers...
Why pull the engine apart...just for valve covers. You have more than enough power, comin' out of the tail pipes.
Get the adapters and lets go crusin' Thumbs%20Up

Thats the plan Steve!

Once I found out I can get a adapter I was fine with the other stuff being different but for the most part I want the motor to look stock.

I remember when I bought the 73. The valve covers are orange. ORANGE!

And thats stock. No cool "corvette" across them, no ribbed cross flags. Nothin.

So I am putting them stock covers on the 70 if we have to weld em on! Wink
