I have been looking at two aluminized exhaust systems on the C3 ebay and wonder if anyone has dealt with and/or bought either system and any comments or recommendations on them. The companies use the ebay names 'tinkinthehouse' and 'klasscollection' and both sell the dual system with mufflers. Naturally when I emailed them, they both advise their system is better than the other. Any comments would be appreciated. TIA

I'm not familiar with the systems available on Ebay. On my '78 L82, I bought an entire true dual aluminized exhaust system from Corvette Central. The price was very reasonable, and everything installed perfectly. I have absolutely no complaints with the sound, quality and performance.
Other places like Corvette America and Eckler's have comparable systems as well. I chose Corvette Central since they had the best price, and like I said, no complaints. At least if you're unhappy, you have some recourse with these vendors. That may not be the case with some E-Bay vendors.

I also bought an entire true dual aluminized exhaust system from Corvette Central. As Gunslinger noted the price was very reasonable (actually the lowest of several that I checked at the time) and everything installed perfectly. I did go with the 2 1/2" pipes and get compliments on the sound. After hearing it people are often surprised to find out that a small block is under the hood with a stock exhaust system.
Gunslinger's comments about the other suppliers are right on. Especially about the eBay kids. Be sure to check with them about return policies, etc before buying from them.

I agree with them. Mine was a perfect fit. I only wish I had gone with the 2 1/2" pipe.

If you decide on buying from ebay, ensure that you check out the persons FEEDBACK!! This will give you an idea of who you are buying from (very important)Feedback is the comments from buyers about the sellers and vice-versa!!
Thanks for all the input, guys. Both companies have mucho feedback with high ratings, and the Indiana company says theirs is guaranteed for life, Florida for 5 years. I'm running headers on this wildebeast, anyone have comments on the adapters and if they were any problem to match up. Both companies say they will throw in the adapters with the package. What is the difference between system with the intermediate pipes welded onto the mufflers and one with just clamps. By the way,Brian, your advice on removing that driver's side instrument panel was right on and got her out without a scratch....thanks, bud!

I belive I have personally talked to the indiana guy at the chevy vette fest recently. He had some good stuff from what I saw. I dont think he sells junk.
I was just about to purchase the same 2 1/2" system for my 72. Did you hook up to manifolds or headers? I just wondered if I might have to make an extra adapter to go to my Dynomax headers. Incidentally, did you buy the Corvette Central system already partially welded or in shorter sections?

When I do buy, I will go with the 2 1/2 system. Both companies on the ebay site said they will include the adapters for the headers, but I'm wondering how exactly they will ensure these fit without the car to measure etc. They seem to have the same system as what Corvette central sells but somewhat less expensive. I would also be interested in hearing from you fellas who purchased from Corvette central whether you bought the welded system or the loose system and what the difference is.

I bought my 2 1/2" system from Corvette Central as loose parts and welded it when it was installed and fitted. I could have used clamps just as easily but decided to weld it. I don't have headers but the stock exhaust manifolds. The system fit great, and sounds great, almost like it has headers.
