Waiting for my shop manual to get here, thanks!
From the second pic, it looks like both connectors go to the diverter valve. That valve determines whether or not to send fresh air into the exhaust downstream. Removing the AIR system is going to effect the 02 sensor readings, also, which will typically get you the dreaded "Service Engine" light, and it would eliminate the mixture control for the carb. It would not, however, effect the ignition timing.

Adams Apple, thanks for the information, have heard the ccm also controls the lockup converter as well? Temporally before I get new exhaust manifolds will plug the tubes going to them and also the one to converter. Too bad the injector pipes are welded to the manifolds , would be nice to just plug them
It does send the command for lock-up to the trans. I do not think having an AIR related code would keep the lu from working. Even if it did, it would not be a big issue, unless you drive a lot of hiway miles.

Getting things back together after cleaning and painting some things and I have a mystery wire that I am not sure where it goes....any ideas will be much appreciated! in the picture its near the AC compressor. My shop manual is on order but not here yet, sorry to be a pest. It has a green plug on the end.
Looking at your second pic above, I can see that connector right under the diverter valve. Does it not go to the valve? What color is the wire?
I do have all of the wiring diagrams available on my WEB PAGE, if you would like to download, or just have a look-see. ðŸ¤

Its a light green wire, I looked at the Pump and see again where the two other plugs go but didnt see this one. I will look at your web page and see, thanks!
Looking again at my pictures before taking apart it seems it was not hooked up to anything? I checked the wiring diagram , wow! so many things going on....The plug is male inside the plastic so would have to connect with female somewhere?
Only lt grn wire I see on the diagram in that area goes to the rear of the A/C compressor, for the heat switch, which your compressor does not have. Guess it is just a spare wire you do not need.

Hello Adam! Thought that I would post here that I have a computer And PROM for a 1981 Corvette. I found a nice 1998 in 2015 and I got it and then gave the 81 to my daughter! I guess she got tired of it and sold it! She will not tell me where it is! Anyway I got this 2nd computer shortly after I got the 81 in 2008. If you know of anybody that needs one, send them my way.
