I have a 74 with a stock 350. I just purchased the car last week with the power brake booster not working. This was changed today and now the car starts fine but after warming up and putting it in gear, R or D the RPM drops and unless I press on the gas it will die.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Did it run ok before the booster swap?
Try blocking the vacuum hose going to the booster, and see if it still dies with it blocked. If it does NOT, the booster is bad. 
Did the new booster come with a new check valve?

The car idled and went into gear without stumbling before the new booster was put in. I also had a problem with on of the headlight actuators and that was replaced as well.
I pinched off the booster vacuum and no change, when I put the car in gear the idle drops and the car will die if I leave it there for more than a few seconds. I checked the timing at it is as 8 degrees.

I leaned the carburetor and that seemed to help. I took it for a short drive and made a few stops to see if the car would idle without dieing. Seemed better but still didn't feel like a solid idle.
A bit more background: The engine was recently rebuilt and has a new Edelbrock 1400 Series Carb. They also installed a new fuel pump and a Mr. Gasket fuel flow regulator with the dial set at 3.5.
What should I do next?

Check valve for the booster?
