Vette(s): 1971 convertible,375 HP 350ci,Muncie 4-speed,Edelbrock aluminum heads and RPM air-gap manifold,HEI distrubiter - old school mechanical tach drive. LOUD side exhaust!
I have Hooker side pipe headers (on a 1971 small block 4-speed). The driver side is tighter than the passenger side. The clutch cross shaft goes between two of the tubes, so it has to come out firstConfused. With regular headers, you may be able to lift it out from the top, but I'm not sure. The steering box also gets in the way. Just have a lot of beer available and keep small children's ears out of cursing distance while doing the job! LOL
