Well...there have been a few other threads on this, but....so what?

The biggest "trick" I can think of is to NOT use the rubber end gaskets that come in the gasket set...the two rubber gaskets that go across the front and the rear of the block. Throw those things in the garbage, and use silicon across there. Run a pretty thick bead across the engine block, after cleaning it really well, and making sure it is dry. Don't put the silicon on until you are ready to install the intake, and try not to move the intake around too much once you set it down.
Some folks like to glue the intake gaskets to the heads...I prefer to not do that. Just a personal thing. I might put a little shmear of Permatex Aviation Sealer around the water jackets, let it sit for a few minutes, and then press the gaskets on to the head. This will help hold the gaskets in place, and also make a solid seal around the water ports.

sealer or rtv on the bolt threads when you reinstall, to prevent oil from leaking through the threads and out the bolt holes. mark the location of the rotor of the dist. when you remove the distributor so that you wont have to reset your timing when you reinstall
