I would like some input/advice etc. on Header style side-exhaust. My neighbor(the guy I'm buying my house from) has a veritable parts garage and just to really make me squirm, set up a set of chrome header style side-exhaust next to my Vette.(propped up by two Rose Food bags) and all I could say was "gee thanks...how much? |sommersalt| These are NOS and are the style that is what I would call the "fake" ones with a 4 inch dump.

Here's my question. Since I hail from the "we'll make it as tough as we can to pass DEQ" State of Oregon, how can I set these up and still keep my "Cat". My Vette just passed DEQ at the end of Feb. 2002 so I have 2 years until I really have to worry about it again. My thought was to perhaps "Gate" the side-exhaust, so that it could be turned on or off. Can this be done? Or is their a better way to connect from the oh-2 sensor back? I have a modified cross-fire on this car/if that makes any difference.

4Webers/George..do you have any suggestions, since you deal with this stuff?
Anyone else pro or con...Please pipe in!! |jumpy|

Hello Rich, as you see by the sig pic I have pipes, and you know what they say about pipes......... Loud pipes save lives, so do your part. |laugh| besides they are |smokin|

Ok thenby the sounds of the discription they sounds like Hooker style with the headers. I'm not to sure about getting the cat in there, that would be a serious trick, but the 02 sensore you could have a port welded in and that would take care of that. The only suggestion I have for you is check when your vehicle will be exempt from the checks, I know in some states 20 years and your off the hook, that means you should be in the clear.

Unless od course you save your old exhaust and in 2 years you hang it back on to get rechecked and then go back, its alot of work, but we own older vetts and there alot of work period.
