Vette(s): Red 1980 L48 TH350 Automatic, Edelbrock Performer Intake, Hooker Headers Sidepipes. Doeskin Cloth Interior, Collector's Edition Lifting Rear Hatch.
When I removed my stock exhaust and installed my hooker headers and sidepipes, I inadvertently pulled my tachometer lead off of the cylindrical condenser? or perhaps capacitor? that is bracketed to the passenger side of my intake manifold. There is a tach wire that comes off of the HEI to one end this cylinder (about 1" dia. x 2" long) and the other end had connected to the tachometer wire of the wiring harness. I tried to solder it back on, and succeeded marginally. I am wondering if anyone knows exactly what that part is called and if a replacement would be available. 1980 L-48.
  Thanks,
       Matt
